Going up my entire life in South West Iowa in a large, values driven, hunting family, I began my passion for chasing whitetails and harvesting my first buck at the age of 13 with a compound bow. Through the years I joined in on the annual family shotgun season deer drives and participated in the archery seasons also. In my mid 20’s I put down the slug gun and opted to give black powder a try and that is where I found my best calling for one on one whitetail hunting along with continuing my archery passion.
In 2004 through a introduction of a mutual friend I meet a gentlemen by the name of Ken Haas and we both had common ground of chasing big Iowa whitetails, so we began trying to film our hunts together with no clue where it would lead. Somewhere around late winter of 2006, through email contacts and being in the right place at the right time Ken and I landed ourselves a spot on a new up and coming TV show called Whitetail Freaks, produced by Lee & Tiffany Lakoski and Don & Kandy Kisky. We hit the ground running with that opportunity and won best/ most improved team our first year into their program. I filmed with the team for a little over 3 years and in that time learned a lot of inside information on scouting, growing, keeping, and harvesting quality whitetail deer from Don Kisky and Lee Lakoski.
In 2009 after taking a break from the filming scene I caught up with long time area native Rocky Pilling of Magnum Force Outfitters and he just happened to be in-between guides at the time, and I was looking to get back involved in the hunting industry but not at the filming level. We worked out a deal and I stepped in to try my hand a guiding hunts, being on a few guided hunts with Whitetail Freaks, I knew there were some things that I didn’t care for as a client and I set out to do my best job possible to provide a quality hunt and experience for my clients here in the great state of Iowa.
In the spring of 2011 we brought on board good friend and absolute all around outdoors fanatic Jack Gangwish to assist in guiding and season prepping duties. Jack brings a lot of years of all around hunting/ fishing experience along with an attention to detail that is second to none to provide clients with a top notch experience here at Magnum Force Outfitters.
Together with the combined hunting experience of Rocky, Jack, and myself along with a very large tracks of private hunting ground and access to stat of the art farming equipment, Magnum Force Outfitters can provide hunting memories that will last a lifetime.
